Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Expenses mobile application ("App") operated by the Expenses team ("we", "us", or "our"). Please read them carefully.

Description of Service

Expenses is a personal finance management app for iOS and macOS that allows you to track income and expenses, organise transactions into sheets, generate reports, and optionally sync data across your devices via iCloud.

The App is provided as-is. Features may change, be updated, or be discontinued at any time without prior notice.

User Responsibilities

By using the App you agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful, personal purposes.
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App.
• Not use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.
• Keep your device and iCloud account credentials secure.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial data you enter — we are not responsible for decisions made based on that data.

Your Data

All financial data you enter is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account via CloudKit. You are solely responsible for backing up your data. We do not store your data on our servers.

You retain full ownership of all data you create within the App. By using iCloud Sync, you agree to Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions in addition to these Terms.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by the Expenses team and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on your personal devices in accordance with these Terms.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our express written consent.

In-App Purchases

Certain features may be available via a one-time purchase or auto-renewable subscription ("Expenses Pro"). All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store payment information.

• Purchases are subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Sale.
• Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple.
• Pro features are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on other devices signed in with the same account.

Auto-Renewable Subscription

The following auto-renewable subscriptions are available:

Prices are in USD. Local pricing may vary by region and is displayed in the App Store before purchase.

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscription automatically renews unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
• Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal turned off by going to App Store → Subscriptions after purchase, or via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your device.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Lifetime Purchase (One-Time)

Expenses Pro is also available as a one-time lifetime purchase that unlocks all Pro features permanently with no recurring charges.

• This purchase does not renew — there are no recurring charges.
• Access is permanent and tied to your Apple ID. You can restore it on any device signed in with the same Apple ID via the Restore Purchases option in the app.
• Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Financial calculations are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including loss of data, financial loss, or loss of profits — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the claim (or $0 if you have not made any purchases).

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App for any user who violates these Terms, without prior notice.

Upon termination, your locally stored data remains on your device unless you delete the app. iCloud data is governed by your iCloud account settings.

Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with the new Terms, stop using the App and delete it from your device.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes relating to these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the jurisdiction where the developer is based.

Privacy Policy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
